Photography students create “Coronavirus Survival Kits” for stay-at-home order

Alison Beste’s Beginning Digital and Advanced Photography classes are on a unit called “Flat Lay Photography” where objects are placed on a flat surface purposefully in a camera’s frame. The idea is to have an eye popping theme and a certain direction that the audience’s eyes follow throughout the photo. These photos are shot from above at a bird’s eye view and typically spaced out by category of an object, each telling a different story and allows the viewers of the photo to be able to focus on that individual object. The students’ assignment was to take a flat lay photo of their coronavirus survival kit, which is what they’ve been using to keep occupied during the stay-at-home order.
